He has served as Education Director for American Society of Nephrology (ASN) Kidney Week, was on the Council of the ASN, and was President of ASN in 2019. He is Co-Editor of ‘Chronic Renal Disease’, a comprehensive textbook on kidney disease now in its second edition. He served as Vice Dean of Education and Academic Affairs at the University of Minnesota Medical School for 12 years. Since September 2024, he has been Dean of the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine.
